Oh That Wonderful Thing Called Karma

By Evan Sanders

Never fail to appreciate even the smallest of actions. They're tiny drops of water, or maybe even, little sparks of flame that will either build your life or set the entire thing ablaze. I've been there. I have, actually been there. 5 years back my entire life was set on fire in the greatest way and it was all due to a karma build of negative actions over a period of a long time. Ignoring the tiny things, attacking inward and outward, letting discomfort seethe within me and run my life. Oh yes I recollect that night well, the night where the flames colored the sky. I burnt down. I burnt to ashes.

Every single day, we are presented with situations in which we can add to our karma or take away from it.

It's never really the large life events that define us. Yes, naturally, they have got a major role to play, however it really comes down to the small things, the nitty gritty details that many folks ignore because they think they are insignificant. The more times I dive into life the more that I begin to understand that everything is moving, continually changing, made of great energy...and your actions in this moment have the capability to send ripples through space that you cannot even possibly comprehend the strength of.

For some considerable time, there developed this gap between me and people due to an implicit distrust in myself - not them. This gap was manufactured through fear, through personal anxiety, and through a complete non-understanding of what I was born to do and be deep down inside. So I tended to avoid scenarios and other people, or on the flip side, purposefully spend almost all of my time attending to others so I could ignore targeting myself.

You know that karma I am talking about? Well, it does not turn out well when you are actually coming from a place of fear.

There's great beauty in this life, but you can definitely miss it if you start spending excessive time thinking in the distant future. You can miss the smiles folk give you and how astonishingly amazing they are. You can miss how unbelievably relaxed it is to sit out on your porch closing your eyes and just listening to all the sounds around you. These are said to be the little details by many, but to me, these are the drivers of my life...these moments are my inspiration.

Everything around us is living and moving, and to think for an instant that simply because the ground you are standing on is solid fundamentally makes it dead, you my friend are totally wrong. It's all respiring. It's all living...and it all matters.

Each specific action has a result. Every action has a counter-reaction to it. These are the laws of life that we live by and these are massive forces at play. I think what we don't quite yet understand is how much our actions truly do effect others, the people surrounding us, and the rest of the globe and beyond. We do not quite see how different we make the world each day by deeply encouraging somebody or lending a bit of help to someone in need. We can't really see the ripple consequences of our smile on someones life, attitude, and perception of the world.

All of these the small actions that you take every day are a part of karma.

So as time is moving along, I tap into my actions as much as I can and and more and can feel the landscape changing as I consciously make my choices. This change in my mentality, which came through my amazing coaches and mentors stretching of my mind, has truly allowed me to let go of what hurts me and to breath life and love into each single moment that I have.

Always come back to your breath. Come back. Come back. Come back. If your consciousness starts to wander, come back. If you become irritated, come back. Over the passage of time you'll get more successful at being in this moment rather than remembering old ones or trying to go to a place that you can not really exist in. Always be coming back. "Come back to me" sometimes you will hear your heart murmur.

Our lives can be put on auto-pilot or you can drive this puppy by hand and truly get a feel for the results of the intricacies of every single action you take. There's beauty in that. Do not be discouraged by the knowledge that everything you do matters. This is going to be something that frees you rather than locks you up.

Let that karma build. Keep adding those drops of water into the vessel and over time you absolutely will have filled it.

P.S. Don't worry if you happen to have lit your haystack aflame. Being able to rebuild your complete city just the way that you need it to be is probably one of the coolest experiences you may ever get to have.
