Believers Guide On How To Build A Close Relationship With God

By Francis Riggs

When you are a believer, you believe in Gods existence and have faith in His power and strength. But it is not enough to believe as it does not help further your association with Him. After belief and faith, it is time to develop a personal and up close relationship with Him. This article will briefly explain how to build a close relationship with God. Ultimately, it is important to do so because it helps us love others and Him.

The first step in making and maintaining a good association to God is knowing what He expects of you and doing exactly that. Just that it does not make being friends to someone you barely know or understand, knowing and following the rules and guidelines God gives for making a connection to Him. The rules and directives are in His laws and is upon you to study and follow them through His guidance.

The second step is to talk to Him. You can speak to God through prayer. A prayer does not have to be complicated. Imagine yourself talking to someone you love in a respectful and loving manner. It is the same He wants you to speak and tel Him all your worries. Take the chance to say thank you for all the beautiful things and also pray for yourself and others.

Another important step that many people ignore is repentance. Sin separates us from God and, therefore when we confess, it is another chance to restore a constrained association. He is pure and without sin, and we are opposite of that. It is only repentance that restore His grace and mercy back in our lives.

Another way to grow our relationship between us and our Creator is through listening to Him speak. Reading His word daily is the first step to hearing Him speak. He also speaks through His Holy Spirit whom he sent to the world to help believers. The Spirit will help understand His word, and it will guide your paths so that you do not walk away from the path He recommends.

It is crucial for one to worship in the company of other believers. Seeing others like you helps grow your determination to develop a close association to the Maker. Besides, it sets you on the path of encouragement and correction so that you may maintain an upright walk. Beware of some believers as others may be wolves in sheeps clothing.

Lastly, remember to make Him a friend. Keep Him involved in whatever you do. Just like we always keep our friends in the loop, He wants us to include Him. Share your concerns, dreams, worries, struggles and joys. Let God work in your life and also take away your sorrow and pain to replace them with love, happiness, and joy.

In conclusion, know that God loves you. It is the most important thing to remember. He will forgive you when you ask and will heal you if you are sick. The most important thing to remember is to ask Him. Spend time with Him and always be grateful for what He has and is doing in your life. Do not be selfish, share with others His goodness and pray for them too.
