Stroke Rehabilitation: Reliving Your Life Through Dancing

By Pamela Ward

There are things that you wouldn t go a day without doing. These are activities that make you happy and that is why you can do them every given day. Having a talent is a great way of teaching someone what you know and love to do. However, when you not as talented as you wish you were, you also want to be taught and a dancing class can give you the lessons that you want and be part of your stroke rehabilitation.

Nobody in their right mind would join a dancing class for the purpose of staying the same. The whole notion behind joining such a class is to feel better and dance great. Being interested in something doesn t necessarily mean you know how to do it. Sometimes, you need someone to teach you.

Dance skills are not the only thing you might learn in a dancing class. Seeing that you will be working with different people from diverse backgrounds, you will be exposed to their cultures and that will teach you a thing or two about your dancing partners. As result, you will become skilled in dancing and skilled in the beliefs of other tribes.

Don t fear your dancing teachers. They are at your disposal to teach you and to show you how you need to be better. They may come off as intimidating but you have to ask them if there is anything you don t understand, that s what they there for after all. Don t wait until it is too late to ask for assistance. Speak as soon as you need help.

Although the dancing tutors are there to hold your hand every step of the day, that doesn t mean they won t be putting some pressure on you to be a better dancer. Seeing that you paid for their services, they wouldn t want to see your money amounting to nothing. Instead, they want to see you realize your full potential and erupting storms in the dance floor.

Don t be so hard on yourself. Greatness is not built in a day. Instead, it is an ability that is mastered overtime. There will be days when you feel like you will never get anything right but you need to be able to remember why you started in the first place.

Just because you love something or you good at something doesn t mean you don t have to perfect it. You still need to practice regardless of how good you have become in dancing. The people that really want to see you happy will support you in what you enjoy doing instead of mocking your passion.

You will certainly be better than how you started. If you push yourself to be greater, nothing will stand in your way. Dancing makes all the pain go away and it makes you happy and makes you see things in a whole new light. So what are you waiting for? Join a dance class and dance your sorrows away!
