Competing With Your Greatest Potential

By Evan Sanders

It took me a long time to truly realize the seriousness of the concept of quality over quantity.

Perhaps it's the society we live in where typically more is better and getting free things is an enticing offer. It's easy to get wrapped up in going for the cheapest thing on the table because it's sometimes the most accessible thing to grab onto. Thing is, this does not challenge you. This does not help you grow.

Life has an interesting way of only opening doors and opportunities to us when we expand past our current boundaries. When we look to bring the best out in ourselves, these doors open to us because we are seeing and experiencing life in ways we haven't before. But this only happens when we decided to take on a challenge that will make us grow.

I believe the great majority of people are disappointed in life not because they aim too high and miss, but because they aim too low and hit.

You have to be willing to make the sacrifices necessary today in order to see a better tomorrow.

You have to be willing to put your name on the board, write a goal with it, and give it everything you have.

And here's the kicker, you have got to be truly willing to raise the bar for yourself at least 1% every day in order to turn yourself into something extraordinary.

When you let happiness find you instead of constantly going out and seeking it, life becomes a whole lot more interesting. Take some time to focus on improving yourself day by day and building your dreams. Eventually, as time goes on and you start tearing down the walls that protect you from putting yourself out there in the world, that happiness will find you.

A whole lot has been written about being happy in this world, and yet we've never had more suffering. People constantly try to tack on new skills and habits and always find themselves back in the same place. Happiness is not something that should be sought out, but a result of you doing the healing and inner work necessary to move forward in your life.

Make sacrifices. Sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. See a dream that you have in your mind and go out and tackle it. You can spend your entire life wondering "what if" but if you go out there and actually go for what you want, you can remove those two tragic words from your vocabulary.

But that's the thing that will make you great.

Who will you be today?
