Factors To Consider When Planning An Enlightenment Festival

By Susan Wood

People go through a lot of work stress on a daily basis. Taking some time off to have fun is healthy to reduce chances of being depressed. It is up to the event organizers to ensure that these people are not disappointed when they attend an enlightenment festival. The following measures should be put in place by the planning team.

The first thing a person should be careful about this the location of the festival. It should be in an area where people have access to. Locating it at the center of a big city could make it unfavorable to many due to the congestion that they will have to put up with. A very local place that is not populated is a problem too since most of the audience may be residing quite far from the place.

Setting a convenient date requires you to look at many factors. An event planned on a weekday may not be successful since people are tired from work and they will be required to report to work the following morning. Making one on a mid-month is risky too. Most people have not received their dues, and the little money they have is put into better priorities.

Early planning should be done to ensure that everything is in place before the due date. There are a lot of details that may be regarded as small but could cause significant chaos on the day of the festival. For instance, one might think that inviting a guest to your event requires only a phone call. It, however, involves a process of invitation, negotiations, confirmation, and sometimes the guest might change their mind.

The safety of the people should be guaranteed. Organize with the police on how they are going to help you to beef up the security in that place. Private security firms can also help in case you do not have enough funds to hire administration police officers. If the audience fee that their safety was not well taken care of, they might not show up in your future events.

Laying out a budget for the event will help you know how much you are going to charge. The type of people that will entertain your audience is a factor to consider; how well they are known for their performances and how much they are going to charge you. For first time events do not focus on profits a lot.

When planning, ensure that you have a target group in mind. This is what is going to determine how everything else is going to be arranged. For instance, if the festival is musical, a performance for teens should not be the same as the one for young children, the middle-aged or the older people. Each of these set of groups has their individual tastes and preferences.

Marketing is what will make people aware of the existence of an event. If you are not in a position to use the media to do this, use the internet. Social media offers a free platform for you to advertise the upcoming event. You can use posters too, or you can call your friend and ask them to spread it amongst their peers.
