The Audit Of Your Life

By Evan Sanders

A few years ago, I had a teacher give us a small speech right before we left for the holidays.

Everything he said was amazing, but one piece stuck out to me.

He told us that we must all "accept our condition" if we are going to move forward with our lives.

What did he really mean?

He meant that you should understand exactly where you are in life and know why you got there.

If you take it a few steps further, you have to look at your entire life in depth and understand where you can make improvements.

The other important part is to see them as they are and not how you think they should have been.

Why is this important?

All of the truth and honesty is exactly what you need to build a solid life upon.

Going through this process allows you to step right into building a new life without trying to escape your old one.

When you can stop avoiding the past and accept the mistakes you have made, you free yourself from something that could be holding you back for the rest of your life.

So how do we actually do this audit in real terms?

The best way of doing this is to get a huge piece of paper and write out exactly where you are right now.

When you go through this process it really gives you great visual experience of what's going on in your life and how you need to reorganize everything.

The next big question you have to ask yourself is, "Where do I want to be?"

And lastly, you have to envision as far as you can down the line and start working a plan backwards from there.

If you can do this step by step, you have battle plans that will help you move into the future with a specific plan.

This will give you a milestone based path instead of going into something completely blind. Then, out of those big milestones, write little lists underneath of, "What do I know now & what do I need to know?"

Another beneficial aspect to doing this process is that you begin to figure out what you don't know and what you do know. Knowing both of these aspects of your life is going to help you move forward into the future as well.

So take a chunk of time out of your day to understand where you are exactly and where you need to be.

To help you get from where you are now to where you need to be in the future.

All of this is magic.
