Personal conflicts occur in many forms. They do vary with their seriousness. Conflicts come up out of the long term choices we make and also the instantaneous decisions we make on a daily basis. The way we solve them really depends on our integrity as well as our character. Personal conflict mitigation and resolution is crucial to every one of us.

It is important to begin with determining the sources of personal conflicts. First, taking responsibility is a major source. One has to decide whether to take blame and the consequences that comes with it or not. Issues to do with ethics are another source. Taking revenge is another source. Many people find it impossible to get back to a person who offended them.

You can also encounter conflicts when you want to make decisions that matter to you and might change your life. Group activities that might be seen as immoral can make you get into conflicts as you try to decide whether you will take part or not. You are likely to get obstructed by choosing not to engage. You should get an understanding of how to reduce and handle your personal conflicts. They can affect your health if you do not manage them in a good way.

We are advised to always write down our feelings. We ought to do this in a journal and keep it safe for privacy reasons. In case we are encountered with personal conflicts, we should create personal time. This is so as to meditate and participate in an activity that fascinates us most. One can for example visit a quiet place playing music.

Teach yourself to respond to situations that you face rather than react. This helps you to avoid arguing. You must not always win an argument. Give in at times. You should also learn to be a good listener who lets others express their feelings. You should also avoid doing something that will draw too much attention to you like talking too much about yourself. Also manage your emotional response. Where there is a need, do not hesitate from seeing a counselor for advice.

One should understand his or her personal conflict style which helps in improving the ways of solving difficult situations. These styles are simply how a person behaves when me by difficult situations. One of them is competition. This is for the people who become aggressive and defensive in times of conflicts. It can be used best when there is need for quick decisions.

Collaborative management style. This is a style where one tries to bring people together in trying to find a solution. In this case, everyone is a winner, and each view counts. This style is highly cooperative. At the end, everyone is satisfied. Avoidance is also a style where an individual will chose to avoid arguments. This is for those who are not confident of solving the situation.

Lastly, accommodation is another style. Here, you put the need of others ahead of others. This is to encourage cooperation from others. You are ready to take orders from your fellow members. This is when you want to enhance peace with others.
