Some Information On The Catholic Renewal

By Tracie Knight

The catholic church is known to be one of the biggest institutions that the entire world has seen. However, no matter how big they are and no matter how influential they are to the people, they still had to undergo some major changes in order to cater to the people. Now these major changes happened during the Catholic Renewal which transpired sometime during the late twentieth century.

Now before the whole church was revamped and transformed into the entity it is today, it went through three major changes during the twentieth century. Now the three changes that happened before the twentieth century ended was the translation of the Word, the modification of liturgy, and of course the new defining of faith in the lives of the worshippers. It was because of these three changes that the Vatican was able to adapt to its followers.

Now to start off, the very first change was none other than the overall translation of the Bible so that other versions in other languages could be made. Now from the fourth century onwards, the Bible was in a Latin language that the leaders would read and use. Of course since not everyone could understand Latin, some changes had to be made in order to address this.

Now the one who initiated this command was none other than Pope Pius XII. In order to translate the entire Bible, they had to go over the texts many times and tried to directly translate it from Latin words so that the original message is still there. From there, they were able to make many translations that could be read by the people today.

Now the second change that the Vatican implemented was the change in liturgical services. Now a liturgy in a nutshell, is the term used for services that worshippers would attend in order to praise God and learn more about the Word of God. Now during this time, the Second Council made the liturgies a little less formal than before and called it a Mass instead of a liturgy.

Now as stated above, this was implemented by the Second Vatican Council. Now for those who do not know, the one who created the Second Council was Pope John XXIII and the one who ended it was Pope Paul VI. Now this was done so that the modernized followers would also be able to relate to the worship services.

Of course the third of the changes was the concept of faith. Now in the old times, the catholic church restricted the people to only formal forms of worship wherein the people would just follow. Of course these days, the church now has made a mix of both personal faith and the formal practices.

So as one can see, these changes can be seen evidently today. Of course the Church will continue to just keep on growing and adapting to the times because the times are evolving too. Now the main thing that they would want to do would be to gather more people so that many more people will be able to share in the gospel of God.
