Good fortunes and luck are things that are desired by people of all cultures. For many years, people have adopted the old Chinese concept of the linkage of a person purpose to his surroundings and natural habitat. It is believed that if energies in your living space are analyzed and balance them accordingly, it will lead to an improved quality of life. These invisible forces are said to bond humanity to their environment in a harmonious way. For people looking to apply this concept, it is advised that they use Feng Shui Bagua to balance energy flow in their spaces.

The bagua is an energy map that assists in the analysis of the space around you. It is basically a map of life that is octagonal in shape and contains all the ancient symbols as representatives for the area in your life. Its responsibility is to give effective ways to enhance the flow of spiritual energy and channel them in your life to bring unlimited prosperity. It functions by showing your current position in life and the position you want to be in future.

Specific colors and elements represent the eight specified areas of life. The first area is career and path in life which is represented by blue and black colors and water element. Another area is love, marriage, and relationships whose colors are given as yellow and brown and whose element and compass direction is the earth and south west respectively. Health and family is also another area given that are illustrated by the colors brown and green and wood as the element.

Love and marriage is also a represented area given brown and yellow colors and the element earth. Its direction is southwest. Another crucial area is fame and reputation represented by the fire element and the colors orange, red, purple and pink. It is also referred o as the light giver. Helpful friends and travel is also found on the map and is characterized by the metal element and silver, gold and white colors.

Career path is also an important area given, it is specified by the colors blue and black and water as the element assigned. The water symbolizes the beginning of a journey. The final area is health and family which is characterized by the use of the green color and wood element.

The familiarization of the energy map and its areas should be the first step. Once this done, you can design a small blueprint of your space and overlay the map onto the drawing. It is important the lower section faces the main front door. The map will help you make the necessary changes to specific areas of your home that are not in balance.

There are areas that might be missing in the energy map and it is important that they are adjusted accordingly for a harmonious feng shui to be created. The missing areas may cause problems to their corresponding life areas and it is important they are rectified.

It is important to have an energy map for all the places including the house, office, garden or temporary living spaces. Although there is no scientific evidential support, it has been popularly accepted as a working theory and has been widely used by interior designers.
